PRODUCTION OF AN ISOTROPIC LIQUID CRYSTAL SPHERULE

The carbonaceous anisotropic liquid crystalline microspheres with pitches are prepared by (a) extracting and separating soluble components of pitches using tetrahydrofuran or quionoline as a solvent, (b) preparing the solution having the concentration of 0.5-80 wt.% by decompressive concentration of anisotropic soluble pitches, (c) adding a surfactant (triton X-10 or PVA) as a dispersing agent to the solution containing distilled water, ethylene glycol or mixture of them or ethyl alcohol as media, (d) dispersin, filtering, washing and drying the soluble solution.
