<p>Digital video image coding/decoding process and coder/decoder for carrying out said process. The process consists, during coding, in passing from a common intermediate format (CIF) image to the quarter CIF format (QCIF) and vice versa and in interpolating the QCIF images in order to store them in the form if CIF images so as to, firstly, process the images with a view to compressing the signals during coding and, secondly, to display CIF images following decoding. Application: videophones, videoconferencing and television.</p> |
