A pigment dispersion contains at least one pigment, a solvent and a dispersing agent for the pigment which is a copolymer obtd. by reacting (A) 80-95 wt.% of a copolymerof (a) 0.5-40 wt.% of an N, N-di-1-4C-alkylamino-1-8C-alkyl(meth)acrylamide and/or a mixt. of N,N-di-1-4C-alkylamino-1-8C alkyl(meth)arcylate and N-substd. (meth)acrylamide and/or (meth)acrylamide. The ratio of the amino(meth)acrylate to amido(meth)acrylate being 1:2 to 2:1; (b) 10-40 wt.% hydroxy-2-8C-alkyl(meth)acrylate and (c) 20-89.5 wt.% of a copolymerisable alpha, beta-olefinically unsatd. cpd. and (B) 5-20 wt.% of a polyisocyanate with unmasked and opt. also masked isocyanate gps. and possessing biuret, urethane or isocyanurate gps.
