A system for automatic continuous feeding of test tubes for automatic sampling at an automatic sampling station is provided. Test tubes (56) are transported continuously to a sampling station of a sampling apparatus by using a conveyor system including a series of elongated test tube holders (42) detachably joined together to form a continuous linkage, each holder containing a test tube. A predetermined number of test tube holders (and their associated test tubes) are moved in a mixing pattern of movement. These tubes are then sampled by aspiration as the test tube holders sequentially move into alignment with a needle member (146).
