PURPOSE:To easily select picture quality close to desired picture quality by printing out a sampled picture according to a threshold level curve of other condition onto a color hard copy recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A video signal sampled by a threshold level table 2 is compressed in its horizontal direction by a clock generating circuit 4, a vertical address generating circuit 8 compresses the vertical direction and the result is stored in a picture memory 10. Then the threshold level table 2 is revised and written to a similar picture memory 10. In this case, an original on the picture memory 10 is shifted in response to the compression rate, then the picture sampled by the new threshold level table 2 is stored to other area of the picture memory 10. The operation above is executed for plural number of times and the result is stored in the picture memory 10 and the printing is executed, Thus, the plural sets of pictures sampled by the different threshold level table 2 are obtained on the color hard copy recording paper sheet. |
