The door section of a road vehicle door has a location provided for mounting a support plate (7) that carries a motor and mechanism of an electrical window operating unit (8). The plate has connecting plug points (12) for connecting the unit to an external unit. All electrical connections are provided by a wiring loom (9) that passes through a rubber sealing ring (16) in the side of the door that holds the loom in position. A connecting plug (11) is located in a socket on the vehicle body. ADVANTAGE - Allows rapid connection to pre-mounted door window unit.
