The equipment comprises two or more horizontal supporting bars (10, 11), and one or more holding bars (6) at right angles to them. supporting bars are mounted via baseplate (4) on wall, ceiling and/or floor. The equipment slews horizontally between working and stowed positions. There can be hoist on holding bar, comprising one or more rungs, fixed rigidly or attached via swivel joint, belt or travelling crab. Slewing can be regulated by control unit (17) attached to one of bars, and this can be designed to remain in same position irrespective of that of equipment itself. USE - Particularly for transferring patient between wheelchair and lavatory seat.
