Electrically powered air cleaner with combined air humidifier function has a water storage vessel (1). The cleaner has an arrester (3) which interlocks with a receiving unit (4) on the housing (2) and holds the water tank in its operating position alongside the housing; that when the arresting element (3) is located in the receiver (4) a support (5) facing the side of the water tank (1) is automatically led through an opening (6) to the water dish (7) inside the unit, which supplies the humidifier with water from the tank (1).
