The roller system may be used to roll up an armoured roller door or roller blind. It includes a square-section shaft (30) running between two end bearings and carrying a hexagonal roller body (29) with a square bore (34). One endplate (28) for the roller is integral with the shaft and the other endplate (32) is integral with the hexagonal roller. A transmission disc (5) with a square central hole (5) is separated from a stack of counter discs (6) by a washer (27). Bolts on subsequent discs engage once per revolution.
