Hydraulically balancing back flush arrangement for filter - with liq. displacer connected to filtration chamber on filtrate side of filler

Back-washed filter, with a housing (20), a filtration insert (22) with filter element arranged in the filter housing, at least one back-washing nozzle (26) at the inlet side of the filter for removing adhering residues, and a drain line (17) from the back-wash nozzle to a tank. The novelty is that a liq. displacer (1) is connected to the filtration chamber (24) on the filtrate side of the filter element (22) and that the drain line (17) has pressure maintaining means (1) between the tank and the back-wash nozzle (26). USE/ADVANTAGE - Backwashing system for a polishing type filter e.g. for oil recovery/recirculating systems. Improved filter cleaning efficiency requiring reduced energy input. Pref. dirty liq. (E) enters the filter housing (20) via inlet port (23) and filtrate passes through the filter element (22) to be discharged (A) via port (25); solids being retained on the inner surface of the filter element. The element surface is cleanable by a slit nozzle (26,28), extending the height of the filter element, and rotatable by a drive.
