The collector has an internal collector chamber (1). This is connected to a gas compensation vessel (4), via a tube or hose (3), to prevent pressure differentials between collector interior and outside atmosphere (2). The compensation vessel creates a constant pressure balance via a membrane (5) or a container (6), which consists of flexible material. The air remaining in the collector interior, hose, and compensation vessel, is replaced by a protective gas. The humidity remaining in these parts is removed by drying agents. During gas exchange between collector interior and gas vessel, the gas passes through the drying agent (7). ADVANTAGE - Combines simple and robust construction of open collectors with advantages of closed collectors, resulting in longer life, and constant high efficiency.
