The enclosed compressed-gas insulated medium voltage circuit breaker has at least one high voltage conductor in a pressurised housing containing at least one bushing (8). This has an isolating or earthing switch (10) which can connect to the high voltage conductor (2) or to earth. There is an external voltage transformer (9) attached to the bushing or it may be connected by a separate cable. The isolating/earthing switch is operated from outside the housing. The conductor is supported on other bushings (3). ADVANTAGE - Improved reliability.
