<p>An apparatus for mechanically pulverizing and biologically decomposing garbage is disclosed which includes a casing having at a top front portion an inlet opening for casting the garbage thereinto, wherein a motor chamber for receiving a motor gear-speed reduction box and a fan chamber for receiving a ventilation fan are juxtaposed in a top rear portion of the casing, and the casing having therein a fermenting tank having an opening portion at a top and a decomposed garbage outlet openably closed by a cover hinged at a bottom. Upper and lower two horizontal shafts are provided rotatably within the fermenting tank; the upper and lower horizontal shafts are arranged so that rotational paths of agitating vanes mounted on the upper and lower horizontal shafts may cross over as viewed in the axial direction; and the upper and lower two horizontal shafts are drivingly rotated in the same direction and at the same rotational speed by the motor gear-speed reduction box.</p> |
