Arrangement, in particular for a water-heating appliance, with a shut-off valve which has an inlet and outlet which are disposed substantially coaxially with respect to one another and a safety valve which is connected thereto. In order, in an arrangement of this nature, to achieve a short structural length, it is ensured that the shut-off valve 1, which is designed as a spherical shut-off valve, is combined with the safety valve 5 to form a single structural unit, the plug 12, 17 of the shut-off valve 1 being provided with at least three passages 13, 14, 15, 41 which are connected to one another, end on the lateral surface of the plug 12, 17 and two of which are arranged coaxially with one another and preferably form a right angle with the other passage 15, and the said safety valve 5 is held on a connection piece 4, which is at an angle to the axis connecting the inlet 2 to the outlet 20, of a housing of shut-off valve 1. <IMAGE>
