PURPOSE:To improve the inter-car control by obtaining distance data between an own car and the preceding car and curve data of a travelling path, obtaining the accuracy related to whether the distance data in a detection range is data for showing the preceding car or not, based thereon, and deciding whether the distance data by a vehicle distance measuring means is that of the preceding car or not. CONSTITUTION:By an inter-car distance measuring means M1, distance data of an own car and the preceding car travelling ahead is measured, and by a curve detecting means M2, curve data for showing a degree of a curve of a travelling path are obtained. Subsequently, by an accuracy arithmetic operation means M3, accuracy related to whether the distance data in a detection range of the vehicle distance measuring means M1 is data for showing the preceding car or not is obtained, based on the obtained distance data and curve data. Also, by a preceding car deciding means M4, whether the distance data by the vehicle distance measuring means M1 is that of the preceding car or not is decided, based on the accuracy of the inter-car distance measuring means M1 obtained previously. In such a way, inter-car control based on erroneous distance data is prevented. |
