The invention relates to a colour cathode-ray tube. In a perforated mask (5) used in a cathode-ray tube, the holes (12) are arranged with a variable pitch which does not generally decrease monotonically from a central part towards two opposite peripheral parts of the mask when looking in the horizontal direction of the tube, in any position on the said mask in the vertical direction, with substantially zero increase of the said pitch in first regions, and has a gradient of not less than zero in the second regions.
