PURPOSE:To keep printing quality at high level by a method wherein a tensioner, which gives tension to ink ribbon downstream a separating fulcrum in the thermal line printer concerned, in which the ink ribbon after printing is separated from paper course at the separating fulcrum and then wound up to a winding part. CONSTITUTION:In the thermal line printer concerned, continuous paper 35, which is windingly held round a paper feed spool 30 in a roll, is unwound from the spool 30 so as to be threaded through a printing breadth guide 50 and the like to a printing unit 31 so as to perform printing through an ink ribbon 44 by actuating a line-type thermal head 40. In this case, in a ribbon feeding device 45, a tensioner 62, which removes the dip of ink ribbon on the downstream side of the thermal head 40, is provided. One end of the tensioner 62 is pivotably mounted to a fixed frame at its fulcrum 63, while its tip 62a opposes to the ribbon 44 ranging from a downstream side ribbon supporting blank part 58 and a ribbon winding spool 42 so as to remove the dip of the ribbon 44 by its own weight. |
