The invention relates to a process for disintegrating contaminated soils, structural casings and fittings, in particular of solid soils, structural casings and fittings contaminated by heavy metals, herbicides and pesticides, as occur, e.g. in sheds used for seed dressing, and an apparatus for cleaning the water-pollutant mixtures arising in this and containing solids. According to the invention, the solution is characterised in that the contaminated material of the soils and structural units is eroded by a high-pressure water jet having a pressure greater than 100 bar and the water-pollutant mixture resulting in this having a solids content is removed by suction into a collection vessel and solids, pollutants and water are separated by a cleaning apparatus.
