A device serves for adjusting a ram (10) belonging to a bristle-inserting tool of a bristle-inserting machine (1). This ram is guided so as to be longitudinally displaceable in the bristle-inserting tool and is connected to a lifting drive (2) so as to be releasable and ajustable in the longitudinal direction. To adjust the extended end position of the ram (10), an adjustment gauge (16) can be positioned in the holding region instead of a brush body which is otherwise to have bristles inserted and has an adjustment stop (17) with a stop face (19). Relative to the hole surface (18) which is otherwise present, this stop face (19) is set back by the penetration depth (t) of the ram (10) into the bristle-tuft holes (8). This adjustment gauge (16) allows very simple adjustment of the end position of the ram thus also avoiding an increase in the moving mass in the case of the bristle-inserting tool (3) and the ram (10). <IMAGE>
