Apparatus for the temporary storage and metered introduction of the volatile fuel constituents present in the free space (1) of a tank system (2) into the intake pipe (3) of an internal combustion engine (4), comprising a vent line (6) which connects the free space (1) to atmosphere (5) and in which a storage chamber (7) with an absorption element (8) is arranged, and comprising at least one conduit (9) which connects the storage chamber (7) to the intake pipe (3) and which can be closed by an electromagnetically actuable valve (10). The storage chamber (7) is delimited by a housing (11) which has a recess (12) corresponding essentially to the size of the valve (10), the valve (10) being fixed within the recess (12) by means of at least one fastening element (13) and forming with the storage chamber (7) a unit (14) that can be preassembled. <IMAGE>
