In order to produce a versatile planting receptacle, it is provided that a basic element with a planting trough is formed, which basic element exhibits a planar retaining surface arranged approximately at right angles with respect to the planting opening. In this arrangement, the planting trough is formed by a spherical sheet-like element as outer surface, which is connected to the retaining surface. In this arrangement, the retaining surface has fastening and connecting openings in order to fasten the basic element individually or to connect two elements via the retaining surfaces.
