摘要 A composite material, occupying a volume, includes a thermally-conductive material (e.g. AIN, BeO, etc.) having a plurality of solid particles (e.g., granules, whiskers, etc.). The particles are bonded together to form at least one thermally-conductive path from one point in the volume to another point in the volume. A thermally-insulative material (e.g., a glass, a polymer, etc.) occupies at least portion of the volume not occupied by the thermally-conductive material. The composite material is formed by a method, which includes the steps of: creating a preform of a thermally-conductive material having a plurality of solid particles bonded together to form at least one thermally-conductive path between two points in the preform, and infiltrating the preform with a thermally-insulative material.
