A curtain that opens from side to side or from the top down. The curtain is hung from a variable position curtain rod which moves up and down within two tracks, one located on each side of the window. Movement of the curtain rod is controlled by a cord. This invention provides variable degrees of privacy in a room while admitting variable amounts of light through the upper portion of the window. When the curtain rod is at its highest position within the tracks, this design functions as a regular curtain that opens from side to side.
