PURPOSE:To shorten the time for erasing a residual image after voltage impression to a liquid crystal cell by incorporating a liquid crystalline compd. having specific volume resistance at a specific ratio into a high polymer compd. selected from a polyamic acid, polyimide, etc. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystalline compds. having the volume resistance of >=1X10<12>OMEGAcm at room temp. is incorporated at 1 to 10wt.% into 100 pts.wt. high polymer compd. selected from the polyamic acid, polyimide, polyamide imide acid, polyamide imide and polyamide. The liquid crystalline compd. is exemplified by a cyano group-contg. liquid crystal, halogen group-contg. liquid crystal, etc. The polyamic acid is exemplified by a tetracarboxylic acid, such as butane tetracarboxylic acid or its anhydride and a polymer obtd. by bringing diamine, such as p-phenylene diamine, into reaction. Further, the polyimide is exemplified by a polymer formed by imidizing the polyamic acid by heat, etc. |
