Operational and disabled modes for an auxiliary transformer in HV supply

The system has electrical lines (3a,3b) interconnecting a pair of electrical mains (1a,1b). The control of power transfer on the lines (3a,3b) is obtained with the aid of a transverse transformer (7). This contains an additional transformer (9), an excitation transformer (11) with a coupled rectifier (13), an inverter (15) and a short circuit coupling (K). Both converters are coupled together by a smoothing inductance (19) that forms an intermediate d.c. circuit.
