The device for securing a mains-coupled wind-power machine, with rotor (1), generator (2) and a wind-vane (10), during a storm, operates automatically and requires no additional auxiliary drive, but can be combined with other securement systems, such as a mechanical brake. This is achieved on account of a design which has the wind-vane rod (9) latched parallel to the rotor axle, on the rotor housing, in the wind-vane rod's operating position, with the latching or engaging position being equipped with an automatic switch (11 or/and 12) which releases during a storm.
