A SQUID flux meter includes a pickup coil wound on a cylindrical resin-coated bobbin made of woven wire of a non-magnetic material, such as copper, having a high heat conductivity. The wire-woven structure includes straight filaments parallel to and around the bobbin axis, and circular filaments perpendicular to the straight filaments. In this way, the heat conductivity of the bobbin can be improved without affecting the input/output characteristics of the SQUID flux meter. Therefore, the cooling efficiency of the pickup coil made of a superconducting wire is improved, and the SQUID flux meter is effectively cooled to very low temperature by the refrigerator.

|
