The heat-retention hollow brick, of fired clay or kaolin for hot air heating applications, is a two-part cube brick with the parts rigidly bonded together. Chicanes are formed within the hollow interior, as an integral part of the brick material, to give turbulence to the hot air flow. The bricks of an initial set are open at their opposing narrow sides, and the bricks of a second set are open on sides displaced by 90 deg. from each other. At least one flow deflection wall, in a quater-circle arc segment, is at the corner zone.
