Aryloxyphenoxyalkyl and aryloxyphenyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-one derivs. of formula (I) and their isomers, diastereomers and enantiomers are new: A = -OCHR<4>-, bonded to the Ph ring via the O atom; n = 0-1; R = H, halo, NO2 or CN; R1 = 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C haloalkyl, 1-6C alkoxy(1-6C)-alkyl, 1-6C alkylthio(1-6C)alkyl, 1-6C cyano-alkyl, 1-6C nitroalkyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl(1-6C)-alkyl, di(1-6C)alkylamino(2-6C)alkyl, aryl- (1-4C)alkyl, heteroaryl(1-4C)alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy- carbonyl(1-6C)alkyl, 3-6C alkylideneaminooxy- (1-4C)alkyl, 3-6C alkenyl, 3-6C haloalkenyl, 3-6C alkynyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl, 4-6C cycloalkenyl, aryl or heteroaryl; R4 = H, Me or Et; R5 = 1-4C alkyl; Z = a gp. of formula (Z1)-(Z5); Q = O or S; X1-X4 = H halo, CF3, CN, difluoromethoxy or trifluoromethoxy; Y1-Y5 = H, halo or CF3.
