Generating method for elementary deformable rotationally linked chains

The chains are derived from a platonic body, which in a first phase is divided by cutting planes into an even number of units. These show mirror symmetry congruently and in pairs. In a second phase, the number of units is increased or reduced until it can be fixed at the minimum number which allows a complete upside-down turning motion. In a third phase the units are then closed into a rotationally linked chain which is deformable, and which permits folding around all connecting edges.
