There are two opposing opening elements (7) at the tip of a pliers type element. The opening elements are formed as cutters arranged on the sides of the levers (6) of the pliers and in the direction of the pivot axis (8). The cutters are formed like knives in cross section, the narrow section being those that face each other. In the front (9), the cutters are curved to fit the shape of a pistachio. The cutters are arranged at an angle of 10 - 30 deg. to the gripping plane.
