In a device (1) for the contact-free transmission of electrical energy from a power source (2) to a consumer (4), two transformers (11, 21), each provided with a power convertor (15, 25), are coupled without contact to a conductor (31) in the form of an endless loop; one transformer (11) is an electrical feed transformer and the other (21) is an electrical take-up transformer. With this arrangement, high levels of electrical power can be drawn easily from a conductor (31) over a long distance and made available to one or more consumers (4). Electrical power can be fed in and drawn off without any contact, and mechanical and electrical losses are therefore low.
