The lock has a casing which contains a key-operated cylinder in a bore, and which has a transverse hole to accept a locking piston on the end of the cable. The piston has an annular groove in which a locking member engages.The locking member consists of 2 pincer-like jaws, which are hinged to one another, and which have at least one spring acting upon them in the locking direction. The inward facing edges of the jaws can engage in the annular groove, and the ends of the jaws have bearing surfaces, which can be acted upon by the operating surfaces of the lock cylinder, in order to spread them apart.
