Removing cast socket from anode rod to enable recycling of rod

The cast socket (12) is removed from an anode rod (15) by rotating the socket using a rotatably driven clamp ring. At least 2 sockets are simultaneously removed and for each socket the rotation time and rotation direction can be independently selected. The clamp ring (11) has internal radial ribs which fit over the socket(12) plus ribs (20). The drive which rotates the ring is a motor (13) and cog wheel (14).
