Paging system with long and/or medium wave transmitters

The system contains numerous mobile receivers distributed over the country for personal calls and/or short messages. Each receiver comprises a very precise time reference and the transmission of address blocks from the transmitter to each receiver is carried out in periodically repeated time intervals, or time slots, derived directly from the time reference. The time reference is obtained from signals of a time sign transmitter, or from transmitted time data in an associated time slot. The receivers are activated in the allocated time slots only.
