Ejector system for insert in thermo-forming tool

A system for ejecting components from an insert (19) in a thermoforming tool comprises an ejector pin (14) with an attachment forming part (1) of a tool cavity base. The cavity base part (1) has an inward tapering central, conical extension (25) which fits into a corresponding conical recess (53) in the endface of the ejector pin (14). Fasteners (17,24,49) hold the tool cavity base part (1) on the ejector pin (14). In a claimed variation a suction orifice is located in the endface of the tool cavity base part (1). A further claimed variation for improved cooling includes a cooling chamber (38) in the tool cavity base part (1) connected to a coolant supply via an axial tube (13) within the ejector pin (14). A smaller dia. coaxial tube (12) inside the axial tube (13) extends to the cooling chamber (38) and removes coolant through orifices (48).
