Secondary drive for IC engine vehicle

The vehicle transmission is fitted with a secondary drive from an electric motor powered by a separate battery. This drives the wheels via reduction gearing and enables the vehicle to crawl at low speeds, e.g. for parking, looking for parking spaces, etc. Various types of electric motor can be used especially compact motors using Neodym (RTM) magnets. The secondary drive is designed to hold vehicles on a modest incline, e.g. ramps in car parks, without danger of running backwards. The battery charged when the engine is running again. The secondary drive does not take power from the battery which powers the starter motor.
