The lifting device (1) is arranged so that the lifting units (6,7) on one side of the working plane (5) can be released together with operating devices (23,24) or fixed relative to the device socket (3). The tool units (6,7) opposite each other on either side of the working plane can be linked by an engaging and disengaging coupling (26). When they are connected, they can be moved against a scale (58) in the existing direction. For this purpose, a quick-setting device (10) is provided for all the tools of the work station (2).
