The device includes a fleece layer including fleece material and polyester fibers, and a reagent for determining an analyte. The reagent is for entering into a detectable reaction with the analyte. The polyester fibers are heat-meltable copolyester fibers containing terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, and 1,4-butanediol.
