The pump incorporates a pump impeller (2). It has a hollow shaped symmetrical structure (10) the interior of which guides the delivery fluid, and which forms an outward projection. A co-rotating cutting knife (4) is fitted in or on the structure. The pump impeller can have an open or a closed construction with one or more cutting knives. The rotationally symmetrical structure features co-rotating cutting knives.
