A method is disclosed of producing coated tablets from tablet cores and coating granulate using a press which has at least one press chamber, preferably with upper and lower punches, and a feed device for introducing the tablet cores. The method according to the invention is characterized by the fact that at least one paste tablet core is introduced into the coating granulate before it is compressed and the coating granulate and tablet cores are compressed in a single step.
