摘要 Computer supported paint application process involving the recording of an image of the object to be painted with a VCR system to obtain its shape followed by a conversion of the image into an electrical signal. An image processing device converts this signal into a hexadecimal signal which is processed by the CPU to control the distance of the spray gun and the amount of paint, based upon the parameters entered at the keyboard and shown on the screen. These parameters comprise: (a) distance of spray gun = distance between the chosen spray gun and the device conveying equipment = (depth of the device/2) + mean distance, set by the chosen gun type, where the gun can be a rotating-bell type, electrostatic air-atomiser, electrostatic high-pressure air atomiser or HVLP high-pressure low-throughput type; (b) paint vol. flow = (spray vol. x film thickness)/(solid content per unit vol. x transfer rate) (c) static voltage is 70-90 kV for average width of the device is less than 30 cm, o r 60 kV if it is above 30 cm; (d) air pressure = 3 x (absolute value of the paint vol./8) + 2, so the pressure achieved is 2.75-3.5 kg/cm<2>, whilst the paint vol. flow is 200-400 cm<3>/min.
