Containers pressed from a hot sheet, remain attached by bridging-sections to each other, and to the grid-like remains of the original sheet. Before supply to the stack (47) the containers reach the feed station (11), where the half of the container (23) is broken out, translated and laid into the non-parted, adjacent container (23). The translation is at right angles, or alternatively, in the same direction as the path of the sheet (24). Twin rows of containers (23) may be drawn on each cycle, and a complete row may be broken out, displaced and laid in. This process may be carried out every second cycle. In addition to the procedure described, equipment to carry it out, is also claimed.
