The prodn. of inorganic filter structures (I) comprises forming and heating a porous substrate, depositing a suspension of a sinterable compsn. (II) on the substrate and heating to form a filter layer. Compsn. (II) is a powder contg. (at least) aggregates which are destroyed to form the prim. particles. Also claimed is a filter structure obtd. by this process.
