Pressure pot for dry or wet grit blasting of surfaces

The pot (10) has an opening (13) for the introduction of the blasting medium with or without water with a sieve (15) above it edged with a ring-shaped water feed tube (16). A cone-shaped plug (14) rises in response to increasing valve-controlled air pressure within the pot to block the opening and stop the flow of material into the pot. The pot has an overflow (26) below the plug controlled by a valve (27) which operates to stop material entering the pot at a given level. A pressure relief valve (24) in the compressed air supply tube (18) to the pot allows the pressure in the pot to be different to that in the blasting nozzle supply tube (22).
