Control process for deforming or separating device linked to printing press

The control process checks the performance of a machine connected to a printing press to fold, separate or perforate the printed products. The first step is to produce picture signals from the cutting or separation lines using a photographic device (18), and also of the printing in the vicinity of them. The picture signals go to a control device (22). Registered deviations of the lines are detected by the control device, which then produces signals altering the positions of the tools so that the desired result can be achieved. This is done on the basis of comparison values.
