The cutting method cools a rotating cutting tool (17) by directing refrigerated air onto the cutters (18). The cooling air stream carries lubricant and abrasive particles, notably a mix of sand and corundum. A cover rests on the surface being cut and presses against the cutting tool face, forming a sealed dust evacuation enclosure. The enclosure is connected to a suction unit (32) via a filter (31). The cutting tool is formed by a tube with cutters on its bottom edge. The refrigerated air is directed round the drive (14) and passes through a hollow tube (15) coupled to the end of the drive shaft to enter the interior of the cutter tube. The cutting and lubricant particles are injected into the refrigerated air stream before it enters the cutting tube.
