PURPOSE: To obtain a gamma camera in which a top plate can be brought close to the gamma camera by preventing flexure of the top plate and thereby resolution of RI(radio isotope) distribution image can be enhanced. CONSTITUTION: A first moving supporting mechanism 11 is disposed movably between the vicinity of one end part and the vicinity of central part of a top plate 1 and a second moving supporting mechanism 12 is disposed movably between the vicinity of central part and the vicinity of the other end part. Magnets 15, 16 are bonded to one side faces thereof and a stopper 7 is projected from the floor face in the vicinity of central part. When a gantry 4 scans a subject, the first moving supporting mechanism 11 moves, together with the gantry 4, from the vicinity of one end part to the vicinity of central part and stopped in the vicinity of the first moving supporting mechanism 11 by means of the stopper 7. Subsequently, the second moving supporting mechanism moves, while being interlocked with the scanning operation of the gantry 4, to support the top plate 1.
