The timepiece comprises a clock movement and a housing (5) for mounting the movement. At least one manual control element (1) is mounted in the housing to permit to permit adjustment or setting of a determined function. This control element comprises a manipulation device (27,27a,27b) which is moved by a hinge (44) on the head of the element. The manipulation device can occupy a first or rest position, in which it is pushed against the head. In a second or active position, the device is manually raised to project from the head to allow operation of the control element. The latter is partially raised in a protective tube (46) which projects on the rim of the housing. The manipulation device is located on a front surface of the protection tube in its rest position, while it projects when in the active or operational position.
