An intermediate plate with three partial plates (1-3), coacts with the divided extensible top plate. The intermediate plate can be lowered under the top plate and folded-out between the top plate parts for the table extension. In the lowered state the three partial plates are stacked with the lowermost part of middle plate (1). They are individually and sequentially swivelable, mounted for this purpose in widely spaced, stationary swivel bearings (4-6), differently apart from the top plate plane. The middle plate is in an equilibrium, while the side plates (2,3) are supported in the region of their inner edges, when unfolded.
